I just listened to the interview Ulrike Reinhard led with Stephen Downes ... I am very glad that she made it happen! Thanks a lot! What were the most interesting points for me? (What is in it for me ...? - to quote a popular question systematically asked during the first scope conference last year ...):
- the most sustainable learning experience: doing something I am reluctant to do and trying and learning to do it really well!
- opportunities coming from new technologies in learning: empowering myself, creating my own capacities - here someone could be talking to us who has lots of experiences in creating and permanently adjusting and re-inventing his life ...
- for companies: loosing control as a foreseeable fact and managing this (do they have to control the process itself? is that control on a higher level but still control?). what does it really mean to loose control? is it just the most appropriate thing to say from a certain perspective in our time? how does this loose of control (if it ever happens in a more systematic way) correspond to stephen's conviction that individuals gain more opportunities to create their own lives - which presupposes that they gain more control. and what are organisations other than more or less closely related individuals ...?
